ABOUT

We are an all-girls robotics team of six members- Elizabeth, Eva, Evie, Solenne, Zoe, and Zoey, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We are a team in the FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) program. Our team began in 2016 in the FLL (FIRST Lego League) program. This is our second year in FTC Robotics. Three of us are in eighth grade (Elizabeth, Eva, and Evie) and three are freshmen (Solenne, Zoe, and Zoey.) Two of us go to Lake Country School, one goes to De La Salle High School, one goes to Saint Paul Academy, one goes to Southwest High School, and one goes to Great River School. We are all motivated and inspired by the work we do with robotics and will continue to do it for years to come.

Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower women and girls through robotics. That principle of equity is why we were founded. A couple years back, two of our members, Eva and Zoey, were on an FLL team at Lake Country School when Eva was in fourth grade and Zoey was in fifth. Of course, it was fun. They enjoyed it. Except for one part: there was a lack in equity. All the boys did the building and programming of the robot and took up all that space, while the girls had to do things like write for the project. And of course, they were not happy about it. So after living in Portland, Oregon for a year, Eva came back to Minnesota and began an FLL team, originally called Girls Rule The World, which became Team Shot. We will try to achieve our mission through teaming up with other all-girls teams, spreading the word about women in STEM, and help our world in every way possible.
